Ebook About
What if you already met the soul mate you were destined to be with? And you didn’t even know it?After losing her best friend to cancer, Corinne’s life is in flux. She has moved back to Chicago, is considering her next career move (or temp job), and has absolutely no time to look for love—until a mysterious dating app called Met suddenly appears on her phone, and with it, an invitation for Corinne to reconnect with four missed connections from her past. One of them, Met says, is her soul mate…Corinne doesn’t believe the app for a second, but when she very quickly finds herself with back-to-back blasts from the past, she’ll have to consider if maybe she’s wrong about it. The thing is, Corinne’s also been introduced to a really great guy outside the app’s influence. As their feelings for each other grow, Corinne has to wonder: With her apparent true love still out there, should she tap yes to the next match? With help from a new group of friends, her loving if annoying family, and maybe a touch of fate, can Corinne come to terms with the loss she’s still reeling from, take control of her career, and find love along the way?

Book Have We Met?: A Novel Review :

When I hit the first curse word, I decided to save myself some time. I ran a search on "the f word" and found 8 instances. Since I know use of colorful language is off-putting to many readers, I wanted to start by pointing that out. This is a very light casual easy read. Beach read. Grammar and such is fine, so in that sense it is well written. But I did not find it compelling or particularly worth my time. Maybe if I were lounging about on a beach, I would feel differently...
This book drew me in right away. I feel like the characters felt real and are relatable. They find themselves in situations that many people in their 20s and 30s have faced recently or are currently facing. This includes trying to build adult friendships, being unsure about romantic relationships, navigating a career path different from the one that you imagined for yourself, and figuring out your relationship with your parents as an adult. I'm in my late 30s, and I found myself thinking that a few situations were very similar to my own life, both now and over the last 15 years or so.Overall, I enjoyed this story. It's clear pretty early on who our main character, Corinne, is going to end up with in the end, but it's still fun to see that journey. I don't want to ruin anything, but I will say that I love the explanation for where the Met app came from and why. I had that mostly figured out fairly early in the novel as well.I would like to offer some warnings to people who seek out specific books or who avoid certain books. First off, there are bisexual characters, there are pansexual characters, there are straight characters, and there are non-binary characters. If you are not familiar with some of these terms, the book might be confusing at some points. Having characters who connect with different labels (or the lack of labels) seems 100% fitting for a book that came out during Pride Month.Second, there are quite a few swear words. There are definitely books with a lot more swear words, but there were more than I would like in a book. The f-bomb was dropped quite frequently.I am someone who would likely be considered by many to be a bit old-fashioned in my views on sexual content in books. I will say that there were a few scenes that went beyond what I want in a book, but it didn't get super descriptive or graphic. I've had books where I've had to skip pages of content, and I didn't have to do that with this book. While I enjoyed this book overall, because of the sexual content and language, I probably wouldn't suggest it to my family and friends. This feels like the PG-13 version of the novel, and I'd prefer the PG version.
